Crisis Care Mobile Units (CCMU) Awards
The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is pleased to announce the recipients of the initial Crisis Care Mobile Units (CCMU) Request for Application (RFA) funding opportunity. This CCMU initiative is a vital step in improving California’s transformation of crisis stabilization services.
The initial CCMU RFA funding opportunity has led to more than $185 million distributed to 48 grantees, which are primarily composed of a diverse group of counties (ranging in size from very small to large) but also include behavioral health authorities from one city, one tri-city, and one Tribal entity. The awards will create and/or enhance 390 mobile crisis response teams throughout California. This funding includes $7.8 million distributed to 24 tribal entities to purchase vehicles to facilitate access to mobile crisis services.
