The CCE Preservation Funds are intended to immediately preserve and avoid the closure of licensed residential adult and senior care facilities serving qualified residents who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) was authorized through Assembly Bill No. 172 (Chapter 20, Statutes of 2021) to promote the sustainability of residential adult and senior care facilities that serve Social Security Income (SSI)/State Supplementary Payment (SSP) and Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI) applicants and recipients, including those experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.
