California Celebrates Groundbreaking of Expanded Indio Behavioral Health Facility

ABC Recovery Center’s residential treatment capacity will more than double

Groundbreaking for ABC Recovery Center SUD Residential Units

On July 1, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and ABC Recovery Center celebrated the groundbreaking of a facility expansion that will serve people who need mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment. DHCS awarded ABC Recovery Center more than $27 million through the Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program (BHCIP) to build two adult SUD residential units, expanding residential treatment capacity by 120 total beds, in addition to an intensive outpatient treatment for SUD projected to serve 400 people annually.

With the recently approved Proposition 1 bonds, even more behavioral health treatment facilities will be funded and built in 2025 and 2026.
